WHO ARE CSMVA

About us

Welcome to Canada Support for Motor Vehicle Accidents (CSMVA), a NOT-FOR-PROFIT organization founded by Anthony and Veronica Florendo, a retired married couple residing in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Our mission is to create better outcomes for individuals involved in motor vehicle accidents, whether as motorists or pedestrians. We aim to orchestrate the support people often miss when they don’t know where to go and what to do after car accidents. Different accident scenarios can arise, and sometimes those impacted are unaware of their entitlement to resources including legal claims to achieve a better outcome towards recovery and quality of life. Our goal is to provide guidance, along
with connections with various organizations, seminars, and workshops, empowering individuals navigating the journey of personal injury claims.

Our story

Anthony, a person with disabilities largely confined to a wheelchair, had his life upended when he was hit by a car while crossing a pedestrian lane, accompanied by his dog. While immediate injuries healed over time, the accident’s hidden impact profoundly affected Anthony and, by extension, his beloved wife, Veronica. Sleepless nights tormented Anthony as intrusive thoughts replayed the accident and he imagined worse scenarios, like what if this happened to the lady walking ahead of him with a baby in the stroller. This trauma strained their 41-year marriage, with Anthony becoming irritable and impatient.

Fortunately, Inga reached out to Anthony and through the support of her specialized rehabilitation facility, Anthony underwent physical rehabilitation to heal his body. More significantly, he received an evaluation from a mental health professional, diagnosing him with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and was provided mental health and counseling treatment. He also gained access to comprehensive information on his entitlement to compensation for his pain and suffering as well as legal representation to address the physical and psychological trauma stemming from the motor vehicle accident.

As the president of the Rotary Club of Toronto West and member of the Board of Directors of the Ankylosing Spondylitis Association, Anthony’s passion for making a difference in people’s lives, along with Veronica’s many years of experience in healthcare, sparked the determination to establish something impactful. The Canada Support for Motor Vehicle Accidents (CSMVA) emerged as a response to realizing the great need for a support group that everyone involved in motor vehicle accidents can reach out to.
Big Picture

Our purpose

Motor vehicle accidents remain a pressing concern, with rising incidents reported annually by Transports Canada. In 2021, serious injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents surged to 8,185, a 4% increase from the previous year. Total injuries reached 108,018, marking an almost 4% rise from 2020.
Regrettably, nearly everyone can recount a personal connection to someone impacted by such accidents—be it a friend, neighbor, or family member. Often, the absence of a dedicated expert like Inga leaves many Canadians, like Anthony, adrift in the aftermath of trauma. The lack of awareness surrounding essential elements, such as psychological assessments for comprehensive rehabilitation, compounds the challenges faced by accident survivors.

How CSMVA can help?

Having someone dedicated to getting you the best outcome is not available to most Canadians unless you have a friend like Inga. At CSMVA, we stand by your side, ensuring that you navigate the path to recovery with confidence and support. We offer assistance in dealing with insurance companies and managing accompanying paperwork. Our network of rehabilitation professionals is tailored to your unique needs, aligning with your best interests rather than those of insurance providers. Should the situation warrant, we can facilitate legal representation, advocating for the financial compensation necessary for your care. We can also arrange loans, empower individuals through free seminars and
workshops, collaborate with various organizations in Personal Injury to provide a helping hand, create events for people to share their stories and inspire others, and offer much more.
